The Board of Forestry and Fire Protection proposed amendments to regulations governing wet areas, meadows, and restoration activities. The amendments would replace the defined term "Wet Meadows and Other Wet Areas" with the new defined term "Wet Areas," replace the defined term "Meadows and Wet Areas" with an undefined term for "meadows" and new defined term “Wet Areas,” and update the Aspen, Meadows, and Wet Areas Restoration Special Prescription to allow for restoration of the historical extent of meadows and wet areas. A hearing will be held April 9, 2024.

The Conservation Commission proposed to adopt new rules on land restoration and conservation planning. The rules would establish various programs to facilitate land restoration, provide an application process for funding for unpaved roads, evaluate and potentially remove natural logjams in Oklahoma waterways, meet nutrient management and conservation planning needs of producers, and implement the Terry Peach North Canadian Watershed Restoration Act. A hearing will be held December 19, 2023. Comments are due the same date.
