Law of Environmental Protection

Comprised of three volumes, the Law of Environmental Protection guides you through the fragmented and conflicting environmental protection laws and regulations put into effect in recent years. Edited by a former regional EPA counsel, with contributions from EPA administrators and top environmental lawyers, the text provides detailed reviews of key statutes administered by EPA to clarify the compliance and procedural requirements of major federal environmental statutes such as NEPA, the Clean Air Act, and the Clean Water Act.

  • Volume 1: The first volume covers general principles and methods, in addition to functional programs. Chapters outline the goals of environmental protection, economic and analytical tools, state programs, self assessments, enforcement, and NEPA.
  • Volume 2: The second volume covers media-specific programs. Chapters discuss air, water, and hazardous waste management.
  • Volume 3: The third volume's first part discusses product regulation, including TSCA, FIFRA, and drinking water. Other sections of this volume include natural resource protection, wildlife laws, and climate change.
