CEQ finalized its “Bipartisan Permitting Reform Implementation Rule” to revise its regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of NEPA. 

BLM announced its intent to revise the Bureau's policies and procedures for compliance with NEPA, various executive orders, and CEQ's NEPA implementing regulations by proposing to remove four administratively established categorical exclusions (CEs) and to incorporate two CEs established by Congress. 

CEQ proposed the “Bipartisan Permitting Reform Implementation Rule” to revise its regulations for implementing the procedural provisions of NEPA, including to implement the Fiscal Responsibility Act’s amendments to NEPA.

CEQ requested input to inform the development of an Ocean Justice Strategy, which will describe the vision, goals, and high-level objectives for coordinating and guiding ocean justice activities across the federal government.

CEQ requested information on Columbia River salmon and other native fish restoration, as well as other relevant information to an ongoing mediation.

CEQ issued interim guidance to assist agencies in analyzing greenhouse gas and climate change effects of their proposed actions under NEPA.

The Office of Science and Technology Policy and CEQ seek input on the development of a U.S. Ocean Climate Action Plan that will help guide and coordinate actions by the federal government and civil society to address ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes-based mitigation and adaptation solutions to climate change.

CEQ amended certain provisions of its regulations for implementing NEPA that address the purpose and need of a proposed action, agency NEPA procedures for implementing CEQ's NEPA regulations, and the definition of "effects"; these amendments generally restore provisions that were in effect for decades before being modified in 2020.
