The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to amend Utah Admin. Code r. 649.3.39, Hydraulic Fracturing. Amendments would require an oil and gas well operator to disclose the amount and type of chemicals used in hydraulic fracturing and would address well bore integrity and water flowback management requirements. At least 56 percent of completed wells are already reported to the FracFocus website under voluntary compliance, but the requirements will mandate the reporting of all wells.
