The Commission on Environmental Quality adopted an amendment to 30 Tex. Admin. Code §290.46, which governs regulations for public water systems. The new rules require the regulatory authority for a public utility to adopt standards for installing fire hydrants adequate to protect public safety in residential areas in a municipality with a population of 1,000,000 or more.
