The Department of Environmental Conservation adopted new rule section N.Y. Comp. Codes R. & Regs. tit. 6, §248, and amendments to tit. 6, §200. The purpose of the adopted regulation is to address the public health threat posed by the combustion of diesel fuel from certain heavy duty vehicles. The changes implement requirements for the use of ultra low sulfur diesel fuel, best available retrofit technology, and low nitrogen oxide rebuild kits on certain heavy duty vehicles owned by, operated by, on behalf of, or leased by state agencies and state and regional public authorities. http://www.dec.ny.gov/regulations/56126.html.
