The Department of Environmental Protection adopted the new regulations N.J. Admin. Code §7:7-7:31 to facilitate review and construction of renewable energy facilities in appropriate locations in the coastal area. Changes add new permits and permits-by-rule for the construction of wind turbines and solar panels. Changes also institute plans to monitor and evaluate habitat and describe situations in which turbine or panel construction is not appropriate.
