The Department of Environmental Protection requested permission to post for public comment amendments to Chapter 555, Standards for the Addition of Transported Wastes to Wastewater Treatment Facilities. The proposed rule changes include revising the scope to include all trucked wastes, not just septage, adding a new definition for "transported wastes" to replace "septage," adding a new definition for "side stream treatment," prohibiting receipt of transported wastes in certain plants that categorically would be impacted by high-strength wastes, changing the criteria for approval to place more focus on pollutant loadings, and expanding the criteria for addition of wastes.
