The Department of Public Health and Environment proposed to amend 6 Colo. Code. Regs. §1007-2, pt. 1, concerning solid waste sites and facilities. The proposal would make the solid waste financial assurance requirements a stand-alone section of the Colorado Solid Waste Regulations. It would also revise the financial assurance regulations to eliminate vulnerabilities in the existing regulations and help ensure that funds will be available to the Department when needed for closure and post-closure of, and corrective action at, solid wastes disposal sites and facilities should the owner and operator become financially insolvent.
