The South Coast Air Management District (AQMD) seeks public comment on proposed rule 1147, Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) Reductions from Miscellaneous Sources. The proposed rule would regulate equipment that is not required to meet specific NOx emission limits by AQMD Regulation XI, Source Specific Standards. Proposed rule 1147 applies to gaseous- and liquid fuel-fired combustion equipment including, but not limited to, ovens, dryers, dehydrators, heaters, kilns, calciners, furnaces, heated pots, cookers, roasters, fryers, closed and open heated tanks and evaporators, distillation units, degassing units, incinerators, and soil remediation units.
