EPA announced a 60-day public comment period associated with the release of the draft IRIS Toxicological Review of Perfluorohexane Sulfonate (PFHxS) and Related Salts.

FWS revised its proposed rule to streamline the Service's process for the permitting of rights-of-way across National Wildlife Refuge System lands and other Service-administered lands; the revisions include new permit terms and conditions as well as other regulatory changes.

EPA finalized its determination that the Libby, Montana, nonattainment area attained the 1997 annual fine particulate matter (PM2.5) NAAQS based on 2014-2021 data, approved Montana’s plan for maintaining the 1997 annual PM2.5 NAAQS, and redesignated the Libby area to attainment for the 1997 annual PM2.5 NAAQS.

EPA supplemented proposed amendments to the Primary Copper Smelting NESHAPs, including proposing additional hazardous air pollutant standards for benzene, toluene, hydrogen chloride, chlorine, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, naphthalene, and dioxin/furans, and revised standards for certain provisions initially proposed in the January 11, 2022, risk and technology review proposal based on additional information gathered since the publication of the 2022 proposed rule.

SIP Approval: Wisconsin (revisions to air emissions reporting and infrastructure requirements for the 2012 fine particulate matter and 2015 ozone NAAQS).

SIP Proposal: Illinois (incorporation of revisions to state air pollution control rules concerning ambient air quality standards and update to list of designated reference and equivalent methods).

NMFS proposed to designate waters from the 100 meter isobath to the 400 meter isobath in the Gulf of Mexico as critical habitat for the Rice's whale under the ESA.
