UN AGENCY ADOPTS BAN ON HIGH-SULFUR FUEL ON SHIPS

On October 26, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) adopted a ban prohibiting ships from using fuels with a sulfur content above 0.5 percent beginning in 2020, unless they are equipped with scrubbers to clean up the sulfur emissions.
