Oregon: Air

The Department of Environmental Quality will conduct a public hearing on a proposal to establish a voluntary clean diesel upgrade program. The goal of this rulemaking is to initiate a clean diesel upgrade program through grants, loans, and tax credits as provided in HB 2172 and HB 3201 and to extend the existing tax credit for new truck purchases in order to reduce excess lifetime cancer risk from diesel exhaust exposure in Oregon to one in a million by 2017. The hearing will be held March 26, 2008. Comments are due April 1, 2008.

Pennsylvania: Air

The Department of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Department of Transportation (DOT), will hold a public hearing on a revision to the SIP to address transportation planning requirements. The proposed SIP revision updates procedures that regional planning organizations, local and state air agencies, and DOT use to assess the conformity of transportation plans, programs, and projects. The hearing will be held April 1, 2008. Comments are due April 4, 2008.

Rhode Island: Air

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management will conduct a public hearing concerning the adoption of the proposed Rhode Island Attainment Plan for the 8-Hour Ozone NAAQS and the proposed revision of the Rhode Island SIP to Address Interstate Transport of Pollutants Affecting Attainment and Maintenance of the 8-Hour Ozone and Fine Particulate Matter NAAQS.
