Maine: Wildlife

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection adopted amendments to Ch. 305, section 20, Permit by Rule for activities in existing developed areas located in, on, or over high or moderate value inland waterfowl and wading bird habitat or shorebird nesting, feeding, and staging areas.

Minnesota: Air

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is soliciting public comment on proposed amendments to the SIP to meet Minnesota§s requirements under the federal Regional Haze Rule (40 CFR 51.300 - 51.309). The purpose of this SIP revision is to address visibility protection at national parks, wildernesses, and scenic areas, also referred to as mandatory Class I federal areas. Class I areas within Minnesota are the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Voyageurs National Park.

Minnesota: Waste

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency intends to adopt amendments to rules governing the development, adoption and implementation of solid waste management plans in greater Minnesota, Minnesota Rules, Parts 9215.0500 to 9215.0880, repealing Parts 9215.0570 & 9215.0810 without a public hearing. North Dakota: Waste

The North Dakota Department of Health will hold a public hearing to address proposed amendments to N.D. Admin. Code Article 33-20, Solid Waste Management. The purpose of the proposed amendments is to change the requirements for final cover design for special waste landfills to be equivalent to the final cover requirements for municipal waste landfills. Special waste landfills and municipal waste landfills will also be given the option of utilizing alternative final cover designs if it is demonstrated that the design will meet the prescribed percolation requirements.

Ohio: Air

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, Division of Air Pollution Control, will conduct a public hearing on the proposed amended rules 3745-21-01 to 3745-21-04, 3745-21-06, 3745-21-08 to 3745-21-16, 3745-21-18 and new rules 3745-21-19 to 3745-21-21. The amendments are being proposed to correct format errors and typographical errors, to extend the applicability of certain rules to the Cleveland-Akron moderate eight-hour ozone nonattainment area, and to adopt new rules also required in the Cleveland-Akron area. The hearing will be held April 1, 2008. Comments are due April 1, 2008.

South Dakota: Water

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Water Management Board, will hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of amendments to rules regarding Underground Injection Control-Class III wells to update the requirements an applicant must meet to obtain a state permit, 34 SDR 199. The updates include more comprehensive requirements for the permit application, well construction, well mechanical integrity testing, plugging of wells and drill holes, baseline water equality sampling, remedial action, ground water restoration, and postclosure activities.

Tennessee: Air

The Tennessee Air Pollution Control Board will conduct a public hearing to consider the proposed Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5) SIP and the proposed Regional Haze SIP to protect visibility in Class I areas pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated Section 68-201-105.
