Indiana: Air

The Air Pollution Control Board seeks public comment on proposed amendments to 326 IAC 1-1-3, concerning an update to references to the Code of Federal Regulations. The amendment would make the Indiana rules consistent with those regulations that the federal government updated between July 1, 2007, and June 30, 2008. Indiana: Water

The Water Pollution Control Board has amended 327 IAC 2-11-6, Criteria for Drinking Water Class Ground Water. The amendments reduce the numeric criterion for arsenic as a health protective goal for untreated groundwater used as drinking water, which is also the maximum permissible level of a contaminant in drinking water class groundwater. Iowa: Land use

The Natural Resources Commission will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Chapter 13, Permits and Easements for Construction and Other Activities on Public Lands and Waters. The proposed amendment rescinds the existing chapter and adopts a new one.

Iowa: Toxic substances

The Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to IAC Chapter 45, Pesticides. This proposed rulemaking would rewrite the existing rule related to the application of pesticides near bees. Commercial pesticide applicators spraying within one mile of a registered apiary shall not spray between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Commercial pesticide applicators will need to keep records of the time pesticide application began and ended. The hearing will be January 7, 2009.

Louisiana: Air

The Department of Environmental Protection amended LAC 33:III.223, Asbestos and Lead Fees. The amendment clarifies language for applicants, applies consistency within the asbestos and lead programs, and allows processing time for an increase in the number of persons applying for accreditation and for the entering of required information into the department's mainframe database by a support group. Louisiana: Air

The Department of Environmental Quality seeks public comment on proposed amendments to LAC 33:III.111, 2123, and 2143 , Control Technology Guidelines; and LAC 33:III.501, Statutory Exemption for Air Permits. The first set of amendments reflect changes made to the lithographic printing materials and letterpress printing materials Control Technology Guidelines (CTG) and the flexible package printing materials CTG that were published in the Federal Register.

Louisiana: Land use

The Office of Conservation has adopted amendments to LAC 43:XIX.103, Application to Drill; and LAC 43:XIX.111, Diverter Systems and Blowout Preventers. Maine: Air

The Bureau of Air Quality will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Chapter 127, New Motor Vehicle Emission Standards. This regulation establishes motor vehicle emission standards for new passenger cars, light-duty trucks, medium duty vehicles, and heavy-duty diesel vehicles. The hearing will be January 15, 2009.
