Alaska: Wildlife

The Alaska Department of Fish and Game adopted an emergency rulemaking that amends Title 5 of the Alaska Administrative Code, a regulation that addresses requirements for use of up to 200 fathoms of drift gillnet in the Cook Inlet commercial salmon fishery. The revision establishes standards for possession and storage of up to 200 fathoms of drift gillnet gear in areas where the legal limit is less than 200 fathoms. California: Water

The California Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment, seeks public comment on revised technical support documents proposing public health goals for chlorite and 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid levels in drinking water. Florida: Water

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is undertaking its triennial review of state surface water quality standards, as required under the CWA. Georgia: Water

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division, proposes to amend Chapter 391-3-6-.03, a regulation addressing state water use classifications and water quality standards. The amendment would clarify specific terms, update the numeric human health and aquatic life toxic priority pollutant criteria to coincide with the latest EPA guidance, and provide new dissolved oxygen criteria for coastal fishing in the Savannah River. Public hearings will be held August 14, 15, and 18, 2008. Comments are due August 25, 2008.

Iowa: Waste

The Iowa Environmental Protection Commission adopted amendments to Chapter 135 of the Iowa Code, a regulation addressing technical standards and corrective action requirements for owners and operators of USTs. Chapter 135 defines the risk-based corrective action assessment process for UST releases. Kansas: Water

The Kentucky Department of Environmental Protection, Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet, proposes amendments to Chapter 10 of 401 KAR, regulations governing surface water quality standards.
