South Dakota: Toxic substances

The Board of Minerals and Environment will hold a public hearing on amendments to 35 SDR 16. The amendments would update asbestos training and certification requirements and state approval rules to allow a longer timeframe for certified asbestos workers to renew required certification, clarify notification and documentation requirements for asbestos training providers that seek accreditation for the training services, and require annual training to take place in South Dakota. Alaska: Waste

The Department of Environmental Conservation adopted amendments to 18 AAC 75, Article 3, Discharge Reporting, Cleanup and Disposal of Oil and Other Hazardous Substances, regarding the cleanup of contaminated properties. Cleanup levels have been updated to reflect new toxicity information in EPA's Integrated Risk Information System and other EPA-approved data sources. New chemicals have been added to the soil and groundwater look-up tables (Tables B1 and C).
