Virginia: Toxic substances

The Board of Health amended 12VAC5-481, Virginia Radiation Protection Regulations. The purpose of the amendments is to ensure the compatibility of this regulation with Title 10 (Energy) of the Code of Federal Regulations, thereby allowing the commonwealth of Virginia to enter into an agreement with the NRC for the regulation of certain radioactive material in the commonwealth. http://legis.state.va.us/codecomm/register/vol25/iss02/f12v5481.html.

California: Air

The California Air Resources Board will hold a two-day public hearing on proposed amendments to CCR Title 13, Chapter 9, §2433, California Exhaust and Evaporative Emission Standards and Test Procedures For New 2010 and Later Off-Road Large Spark Ignition (LSI) Engines; and CCR Title 13, Chapter 9, §2403, California Exhaust Emission Standards and Test Procedures for 2005 and Later Small Off-Road Engines (SORE). The amendments include a new table of emission standards for LSI engines with a displacement of less than or equal to 1 liter.

California: Waste

The California Integrated Waste Management Board will hold a public hearing on proposed revisions to Title 14, Chapter 6, Article 8.5, Waste Tire Hauler Registration.

Delaware: Wildlife

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a public hearing on proposed regulations designed to be in compliance with the provisions of the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission Addendum V to the Interstate Fishery Management Plan for Horseshoe Crab. These regulations would extend for another year the prohibition on the harvest and landing of all horseshoe crabs in Delaware waters from January 1 through June 7, and prohibit the harvest and landing of female horseshoe crabs for the remainder of the year as well.

Delaware: Waste

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Delaware Regulations Governing Hazardous Waste. The amendments would maintain Delaware's authorization from EPA to administer its own hazardous waste management program by adopting amendments previously promulgated by EPA. The hearing will be held October 23, 2008.

Georgia: Water

The Department of Natural Resources will hold a public hearing on the proposed addition of Chapter 391-3-32, Regional Water Planning, and amendments to Chapter 391-3-6, Permitting Based on Regional Water Development and Conservation Plans, and Chapter 391-3-2, Permitting Based on Regional Water Development and Conservation Plans. The changes would provide minimum uniform statewide regulations for the issuance of any permit for the use of surface water or groundwater based on Regional Water Development and Conservation Plans. The hearing will be held October 21, 2008.

Indiana: Wildlife

The Natural Resources Commission adopted emergency amendments to 312 IAC 9, governing the taking and possession of paddlefish. The amendments prohibit the taking of fish by snagging, modify the definition of rough fish, provide a standard for the measurement of paddlefish, prohibit the taking of paddlefish from public waters under a regular sport fishing license, and provide a season and size limit for the commercial fishing of paddlefish on the Ohio River.

Kansas: Waste

The Department of Health and Environment will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to K.A.R. 28-73-1, Environmental Use Control Regulation. The proposed change would modify the definition of "eligible property" by eliminating a sentence that prevents dozens of Kansas hazardous waste facilities from participating in the Environmental Use Controls Program. Maine: Waste

The Department of Environmental Protection requested permission to post for public comment amendments to Chapter 555, Standards for the Addition of Transported Wastes to Wastewater Treatment Facilities.

Minnesota: Water

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) seeks public comment on proposed amendments to Chapters 7080 to 7083, rules governing the Subsurface Sewage Treatment System (SSTS) program.
