Maine: Toxic substances

The Department of Environmental Protection proposed to amend Ch. 425, Asbestos Management Regulations. Changes would promote the use of §risk-based§ standards to regulate asbestos more effectively in areas of greatest risk for exposure and integrate changes to standard industry practice that have evolved over the past six years. Maine: Toxic substances

The Department of Environmental Protection proposed to adopt Ch. 882, which would designate bisphenol A as a priority chemical in children's products. The regulation would require manufacturers of childcare items and food sold in packaging containing bisphenol A to report on chemical usage and known alternatives. It would also ban the sale of food in packaging containing bisphenol starting January 1, 2012. This amendment is similar to an earlier proposed rule, but also contains the requirement that sellers conduct an alternatives assessment. The comment period ends November 17, 2010.

Missouri: Water

The Department of Natural Resources proposed to amend Mo. Code Regs. Ann. tit. 10, §20-8.110, Engineering- Reports, Plans, and Specifications.
