EPA approved Indiana’s state plan to control air pollutants from municipal solid waste landfills under §111(d) of the CAA. 

The Federal Highway Administration amended its regulations governing national performance management measures to require state departments of transportation and metropolitan planning organizations to establish declining carbon dioxide targets for the greenhouse gas emissions associated with transportation and report on progress toward the achievement of those targets. 

EPA proposed revisions to the National Primary Drinking Water Regulation for lead and copper under the SDWA, including requiring water systems to replace lead service lines, remove the lead trigger level, reduce the lead action level to 0.010 mg/L, and strengthen tap sampling procedures.

FWS proposed to list the northern distinct population segment (DPS) and the southern DPS of the western spadefoot as threatened DPSs under the ESA, with a rule issued under §4(d) of the Act.  

EPA announced the availability of the Draft National Strategy for Reducing Food Loss and Waste and Recycling Organics, developed by the Agency, USDA, and FDA to help prevent the loss and waste of food, where possible, increase recycling of food and other organic materials to support a more circular economy for all, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save households and businesses money, and build cleaner and healthier communities.

SIP Approval: Alaska (partial approval and partial disapproval of submissions to address requirements for the 2006 24-hour fine particulate matter (PM2.5) NAAQS in the Fairbanks North Star Borough PM2.5 nonattainment area). 

SIP Approval: Ohio (source-specific volatile organic compound limit, excluding water and exempt solvents, for the applicable process lines at Forest City Technologies, Plant 4, in Wellington, Ohio). 

FWS seeks comment on applications to conduct certain activities with foreign species that are listed as endangered under the ESA.

EPA proposed amendments to NESHAPs for the oil and gas industry issued under the CAA that would remove the affirmative defense provisions of NESHAPs for both the Oil and Natural Gas Production source category and the Natural Gas Transmission and Storage source category.

EPA Region 6 announced an initial revised designation determination that stormwater discharges from the Los Alamos Urban Area (as defined by the latest decennial Census) and Los Alamos National Laboratory property in Los Alamos County and Santa Fe County, New Mexico, are contributing to violations of New Mexico water quality standards and require NPDES permit coverage under the CWA.
