Under a proposed third amended consent decree concerning the Asarco Tacoma Smelter and Sediments/Groundwater Operable Units of the Commencement Bay Nearshore/Tideflats Superfund site in the city of Tacoma and the town of Ruston, Washington, new deadlines will be set for completion of remedial action, a payment schedule will be established to address unpaid past oversight costs and other monies due, and relief from the remedial action work schedule will be allowed for any commercial development of the site.
