United States v. Doe Run Resources Corp.

Settling CERCLA defendants that released hazardous substances from historic lead mining, milling, and smelting operations at eleven facilities in the southeast Missouri lead mining district and at the Herculaneum lead smelter in Jefferson County, Missouri, must perform natural resource restoration work on approximately 2,080 acres of land and 10 miles of streams; donate approximately 1,100 acres of ecologically significant property; reimburse certain future restoration and implementation costs; pay $1.9 million for past assessment costs and future restoration and implementation costs; and provide funding and financial assurance for a portion of the restoration measures.
