A settling CAA defendant responsible for a 2008 explosion at the methomyl production unit at its plant in Institute, West Virginia, must pay a $975,000 civil penalty, must perform injunctive relief to reduce the likelihood of future accidents at the Institute plant and several other chemical processing plants, and must perform supplemental environmental projects valued at $4.23 million.
