Summary: An administrative law judge (ALJ) orders an underground storage tank owner to show cause why it should not be held in default for failing to comply with a September 29, 1997, prehearing order. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) filed suit against the owner for failing to respond to a confirmed release of a petroleum substance and for failing to replace a cracked compression fitting on blowback copper tubing on a turbine pump for an unleaded gasoline tank. The ALJ issued a prehearing order with which the owner failed to comply.
