The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency proposed amendments to Ohio Admin. Code 3745-90-01, 3745-90-02, 3745-90-03, 3745-90-05, 3745-90-06, and 3745-90-07, concerning harmful algal blooms (HAB). The amendments would, among other things, define the parameters of the HAB season, modify the definition of cyanobacteria screening, and reduce monitoring requirements under certain conditions. A hearing will be held May 4, 2022. Comments are due the same date.

The Water Management Board proposed to amend South Dakota's surface water quality standards. The amendments would, among other things, update ammonia criteria and toxic pollutant criteria, adopt cyanobacteria cyanotoxin criteria, remove the conductivity criteria for irrigation waters, and modify the approval procedure for water restoration and enhancement projects and water quality certification. A hearing will be held December 2, 2020. Comments are due November 28, 2020.
