Georgia: Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)

November 2020

Update Volume

Update Issue

The Environmental Protection Division proposed to amend the rules for public water systems to improve water supply efficiency. The amendments would make clear that public water systems serving at least 3,300 individuals that do not otherwise hold a water withdrawal permit are required to demonstrate progress toward improving water supply efficiency when renewing their drinking water permits, and that the director of the Division may take permitting action where such systems fail to demonstrate progress. A hearing will be held December 14, 2020. Comments are due December 18, 2020. See https://epd.georgia.gov/chapter-391-3-33.
