The Department of Environmental Conservation Division of Spill Prevention and Response is considering updating and revising its regulations regarding petroleum cleanup levels. Potential changes may include, but are not limited to, soil cleanup levels, groundwater and surface water cleanup levels, and definitions. At this time, the department is seeking comments and recommendations on possible updates from the public, before the formal process of drafting any proposed changes begins. Written comment, suggestions, and other input will be accepted until 5:00 pm on January 15, 2017. Public workshops will be held on November 29, December 6, and December 7, 2016.
