Michigan: Waste

Michigan: Air

The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to amend Mich. Admin. Code R. 336 in order to comply with Part 55, Air Pollution Control, of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act. Changes seek to maintain consistency with federal regulations and include revisions to Michigan’s SIP. The deadline for comment is December 2, 2013, and a public hearing will be held that day. Maryland: Air

The Department of the Environment proposed to amend Md. Code Regs. 26.11.19, Volatile Organic Compounds from Specific Processes. Changes would adopt the requirements of EPA’s Control Techniques Guidelines. The deadline for comment is December 18, 2013, and a public hearing will be held that day. Maryland: Air

The Department of the Environment proposed to amend Md. Code Regs. 26.11.09, Control of Fuel-Burning Equipment, Stationary International Combustion Engines, and Certain Fuel-Burning Installations; and 26.11.14, Control of Emissions from Kraft Pulp Mills. Changes would clarify the volatile organic compound control system and requirements.

Maine: Natural Resources

The Department of Environmental Protection proposed to amend 39-096 Code Me. Regs. Ch. 106, Low Sulfur Fuel. Changes would incorporate statutory requirements for the use of low sulfur distillate and residual fuels. Louisiana: Toxic Substances

The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to amend La. Admin. Code §33.111.5151, pertaining to emissions standards for asbestos. Changes would include clarifying the regulations governing demolition and renovation activity and the requirements for the disposal of asbestos-containing materials. Illinois: Natural Resources

The Department of Natural Resources proposed to amend 62 Ill. Admin. Code §245, pertaining to the Hydraulic Fracturing Regulatory Act. Changes would regulate the permitting, drilling, construction, operation, and plugging of wells and the restoration of well sites where high volume horizontal hydraulic fracturing operations are conducted. Public hearings will be held on November 26 and December 3, 2013, and the deadline for comment is January 3, 2014.

Illinois: Natural Resources

The Department of Natural Resources proposed to amend 62 Ill. Admin. Code §240.796. Changes would regulate the monitoring of Class II UIC wells in order to determine whether these wells contribute to seismic activity. Public hearings will take place on November 26 and December 3, 2013, and the deadline for comment is January 3, 2014. Colorado: Quality

The Department of Public Health and the Environment proposed to amend 5 Colo. Code Regs. §1002.81, Animal Feeding Operations Control Regulation. Changes seek to protect state waters by ensuring that animal feeding operations follow set standards. A public hearing will be held on December 3, 2013.
