Nevada: Mining

The State Environmental Commission amended Nev. Admin. Code §519A.165, relating to land reclamation.Changes relate to permits for exploration projects. Amendments took effect September 14, 2012. See www.leg.state.nv.us/register/2012Register/R044-12A.pdf.


Virginia: Hazardous Substances

The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to amend 9 Va. Admin. Code §20.160, Voluntary Remediation Regulations. Changes update the regulation to include current remediation levels, improve reporting requirements, and clarify eligibility, termination, and application requirements. Maryland: Quality

The Department of the Environment amended Md. Code Regs. 26.04.02, Sewage Disposal and Certain Water Systems for Homes and Other Establishments in the Counties of Maryland Where a Public Sewage System Is Not Available. Changes require nitrogen-removal technology for on-site sewage disposal systems serving new construction of any nitrogen-impaired water body. Amendments take effect January 1, 2013. Illinois: Air

The Department of Natural Resources amended 17 Ill. Admin. Code §1565, Illinois Prescribed Burning Act. Amendments increase the size of the Prescribed Burn Manager Certification Board and extend the application deadline to grandfather in requirements for existing burners, among other changes. Illinois: Energy

The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency amended 35 Ill. Admin. Code §275, Alternate Fuels Program. Amendments allow car sharing organizations to receive grants to purchase new electric vehicles from an Illinois car dealership. Changes took effect September 10, 2012.
