The Oil Conservation Committee is proposing to amend N.M. Code R. §19.15.8 regarding financial assurance for oil and gas wells. Among other changes, the amendments would establish amounts of blanket plugging financial assurance for wells in temporarily abandoned status, and clarify that if a blanket bond no longer covers certain wells, additional financial assurance for the non-covered wells is required.
